5 Tips for Changing Your Life

If you're looking to make changes in your life whether its in the gym or not, here's some tips. These are all opinion based observations from a guy who sees these patterns daily.


1. If your first step is a shortcut, you're already setting yourself up for failure.

Lasting progress is not quick. Dropping hundreds of dollars on the newest supplement, detox, or exercise fad is going to leave you disappointed with the only loss being in your bank account. Just accept that fact that long lasting results take work, and most people/ supplement companies just want your money.


2. Quit waiting for the right day to roll around.

There's no significance to starting on a Monday, or a new year. If you REALLY want change start now. Why waste days that could have you ahead? If you're waiting for that special day, you're likely just making excuses for you to keep doing what you're doing and you will fall off the train before it ever leaves the station.


3. Find someone who is doing what you want to do or maybe looks like you want to, who is a professional.

Quit listening to bro science to get your results. Quit listening to everyone's opinion and advice when what they do and who they are doesn't line up with what you are doing. Seeking advice from too many sources especially bad ones only moves you backwards. You'll end up confused, lost and frustrated.

4. Check your friend group.

When you say "I want to _______ " what is their response?

Do they encourage you? Is the first thing out of their mouth negative? Don't look for affirmations from people who are ok with average. People will talk you out of your goals and dreams, next thing you know you'll be sitting in a room with those people sharing stories about everything you could've, should've or would've done.

5. Finish what you start.

If you commit then commit. Be all in on it. Quit making excuses or looking for sympathy because something is difficult. Get out of your own way and get what you want.

No shortcuts, no excuses, commit to your goals, surround yourself with positive people and go get what you want. No one cares about you like you do. No one else will love with the thoughts of regret like you will. Quit making excuses for your shortcomings when you're the one in control.
