The First Goal

The First Goal

Stronger together is probably the most important phrase we have on the wall at the gym.

To me, this has always been the first goal: creating a place that I needed in my worst time in my life. The place that I always wanted. When I come in, make a post, make a video, whatever, the idea is to always reach that person, that kid version of me that needed it.

As the gym is growing and we’re getting as big as we want to get, that’s what I want people to keep seeing.

We have the capability to make really cool videos, but if we get to the point where we’re just making cool videos and flashing cars and our nice things, what value does that add? What hope does give to someone who was in that same spot? Like “Oh, if you open a gym and you’re successful you can have nice things?” Screw that. I will drive my truck til the day I die if it means more people are impacted by the mentality and the idea that this can be a place for the smallest, weakest, most depressed, unconfident person, where they can walk in and feel like this is home. And that means everything to me. I don’t care about anything else.

Growing up in a big family, being on a big football team in high school and being a small kicker, it was easy to feel forgotten at times. It was easy to get down on myself. But at the same time, I knew inside of me there was something bigger. And no matter how low I got, how sad or lonely, I knew eventually I could help someone in that spot because I’ve experienced it.

Every experience I’ve had has built this brand but, I try to take those and learn something that can make a day or someone else’s life a little better. That’s the most important thing.

So whatever I gotta go through, whatever the worst things are that happen to me—if me going through that makes my brand, my gym, or me better to help someone, then it’s worth it, no matter how bad it sucks. Because someone, somewhere, eventually is gonna need that. So that’s what I want. Not just a place where they can go work out, but a place where they can feel that love and acceptance and find confidence, in a really badass gym. Where no matter who you are or where you start, we are stronger together.
